CHILDREN'S & YOUTH MINISTRY

Little Pebbles

Our Little Pebbles ministry is to children ages 6 and under.  We believe that children at any age can know and love Jesus.  Children's enthusiastic expressions of faith can help transform the church and everyone in it. To assist children in fully participating in their church communities and in exploring their own ministries, we provide imaginative, innovative resources, games, and lessons for children.  We are joyful in our call to love, equip, shelter, protect, and provide for our Little Pebbles.  Little Pebbles ministry is named for small smooth stones that make a pathway to Jesus. Children are a precious part of God's church.  Isaiah 57:14, "Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people's way."

Youth

Our Youth ministry is to children and youth ages 7 through 14 years old.  We seek to inspire our children and youth to a deep personal walk with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Our mission is to see students grow in Jesus, love others, be equipped to understand and speak their faith, serve others with humility, and live abundantly for the Lord. We equip youth for discipleship and for Christian leadership in their lives and their communities.  The children and youth in Flint Rocks ministry enjoy worship in the main service, then an age appropriate interactive lesson, snacks, crafts, games, and other fun activities to promote fellowship and unity.  The name "Flint Rocks" comes from the idea of flint, "being a weapon, a tool, and a spiritual fire-starter" for the Lord.  The next generation is called to have purpose and hope in Jesus!  We are here to faithfully love and guide them to Jesus.

We believe that serving the community as a family is a Biblical part of discipling our children.  Children get to see the adults living out our faith practically and have the opportunity to learn how to interact with the world around them. At GSCC, we make sure that the children and youth can participate in our outreach ministries by serving directly in age appropriate ways or by helping prep for ministry.  The Lord used King Josiah at age 8 and a young Mary to carry the Messiah... He can use our children for mighty work also!

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words that I give you today. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you’re at home or away, when you lie down or get up. Write them down, and tie them around your wrist, and wear them as headbands as a reminder. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:5-9
